No account is required. After generating a QR, you receive a unique management link. Save that link — it's the only way to manage your QR code.

TemporaryQR supports nine types: Website URL, Plain Text, Wi-Fi Network, Contact Card (vCard), Email Template, SMS Message, Calendar Event, GPS Location, and Phone Number.

There is no hard per-user limit today. We reserve the right to introduce rate limits in the future if abuse is detected.

When you set a password, it is immediately hashed using PBKDF2-SHA256 with 100,000 iterations before being stored. The plaintext password is never saved anywhere. When someone scans the QR, they must enter the password, which is verified server-side using constant-time comparison to prevent timing attacks.

IP addresses are one-way hashed immediately on arrival using SHA-256 and are never stored in plaintext. The hash is used only for basic deduplication analytics. No IP geolocation or precise location tracking occurs.

Yes. We collect only the minimum data required to operate the service. All processing is done in Cloudflare's infrastructure across the EU and US. We provide a full Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy for compliance. Users may request deletion of their QR records at any time via the management link or by contacting us.

Your QR content is stored in Cloudflare KV and accessible only via its unique ID. Password-protected QRs require the password to view the content. Cloudflare staff may theoretically access raw storage data, as covered by their data processing agreement.

Never. TemporaryQR does not sell, rent, or share user data with third parties. Advertising partners (if enabled) do not receive QR content or scan data.

By default, QR codes expire 24 hours after creation. You can change this to 1 hour, 6 hours, 48 hours, 7 days, 30 days, or set it to never expire.

Expired QR codes display a friendly "This QR has expired" message to anyone who scans them. The underlying data is automatically purged from storage by Cloudflare KV's TTL mechanism within 24 hours of expiry.

You can restrict a QR to specific hours (e.g., 09:00–17:00) and specific days of the week. Outside those windows, the QR displays an "Not available right now" message. Time checks are performed in UTC on the server, so plan accordingly for your audience's timezone.

A one-time-use QR code self-destructs immediately after the first successful scan. Anyone who scans it afterward sees a message that the code has already been used.

Yes, but only for URL-type QR codes via the Dynamic Destination feature. You can change the destination URL from the management page without reprinting the QR. Other content types (Wi-Fi, vCard, etc.) encode content directly in the QR pattern and cannot be changed after printing.

QR codes are generated at 600×600px PNG by default. SVG exports are resolution-independent and suitable for large print formats. PDF exports include the QR centered on an A4 page.

QR codes are generated at Level H (High) — 30% error correction. This means the QR remains scannable even if up to 30% of the code is damaged or obscured, which is ideal for real-world print applications.

All QR records are stored in Cloudflare KV, a globally distributed, low-latency key-value store. Data is replicated across Cloudflare's edge network and served from the nearest data center to the scanner.
